According to Greek mythology Rhea was the daughter of Gaia need Uranus, married Cronos by whom he had six children: Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, Poseidon, Zeus. When the Asian cult became confused with the Greek one, Rea was identified with Cybele, and it is with this last name that she was known in the West and, therefore, also in Sicily.
