Towards a New Tourist and Cultural Horizon: Free Training and Dissemination of Knowledge

The initiative is part of a larger project “Experiential Tourism and Interpretation of Cultural Heritage”  (Initiative No. 1)

The Program “Towards a new tourist and cultural horizon” aims to spread knowledge and skills in the tourism and cultural sectors. Its main objective is to promote the principles of Experiential Tourism and renew Cultural Tourism, adopting a holistic approach inspired by Heritage Interpretation. The planned initiatives include free training, online resources and specialist publications, all made available to scholars and operators in the sectors involved.

1) Campaign “Towards a New Tourist and Cultural Horizon: Free Training and Dissemination of Knowledge”

Possibility to take advantage of the following basic courses for free, all online and lasting 16 hours:

    • 1.1) Experiential Literacy:
  • SPE200: Fundamentals and Practices of Experiential Tourism: available free of charge to everyone. 
    • 1.2) Basic Training:
  • SPE201: Fundamentals and Practices of Heritage Interpretation: available free of charge for: Public Administration, Museums, Ecomuseums and members AIPTOC
  • SPE202: Destination Management Fundamentals: davailable free of charge for Public Administration, Tour Operators and members AIPTOC
  • SPE203: Guest Experience Fundamentals: available free of charge for Hospitality Industry Operators and members AIPTOC.  
  • SPE204: Fundamentals of Art Experience: available free of charge for: Artists, Exhibition Curators, Art Critics, Gallery Owners and members AIPTOC.
  • SPE205: Dinner Experience Fundamentals: available free of charge for: Catering industry operators and members AIPTOC.
  • SPE206: Fundamentals of Outdoor Exploration Experience Fundamentals of Outdoor Exploration Experience: available free of charge for: Guides, Escorts, Tour Operators, Archaeologists and members AIPTOC.
  • SPE207: Event Experience Fundamentals: available free of charge for: Event Operators and members AIPTOC.

The books of the Experiences are available on the market, but can be downloaded for free, some in full version, others in the form of large extracts, from the ACADEMIA.EDU site to facilitate access to scholars and enthusiasts. The campaign is an initiative created by AIPTOC - Italian Association of Tourism Professionals and Cultural Operators in collaboration with the Helios Study Center.
