Mirabella cave
Description

Mirabella cave

The cave is located at the foot of the Serre del Mirabella with a very characteristic circular entrance of 8 m, clearly visible from a distance. It is an uphill corridor, of decreasing width, with a dusty, sterile ground floor. On the left wall, at eye level, there is a series of small figures painted with red ocher: the first two are zoomorphic, perhaps dogs; the others are anthropomorphic, in different attitudes. Uncertain dating: perhaps Eneolithic. F ° 249 II SW, Monreale; UTM: UC44310758, Altitude: 880 m,
Development m 33.
