The entrenched village of Cozzo Villa - Casa Madrenza
Entrenched village. Neolithic
The trenches from which the village is surrounded, from 12 to 30 meters long and 4 meters deep, have returned a large quantity of ceramic fragments, meal residues, fragments of flint and obsidian industry, all related to the Stentinello culture.
Orsi had already explored the area during a previous excavation campaign (N. Sc. 1898) which had brought to light a Sicilian necropolis of the 2nd period
