Viale Scala Greca – Aqueduct of Paradise 

Paradise Aqueduct

Series of deep wells forming part of a single water system connected with other existing wells along Viale Scala Greca, all with a quadrangular section (140×80/100 cm), with notches for inspection in the vertical walls. This water system, known further south as the "aqueduct of Paradise" extends up to the four openings identified in the deviation towards the north-east in
correspondence of the IPSIA complex. The system, 2 km long, had no communication with the other Syracusan aqueducts but collected the waters from the bowels of the terrace of ancient Epipoli, and reached the lower part up to Neapolis, in the area of ​​the theatre, and the Latomia to the east from which it takes the name
