Remains of the urban neighborhood of Neapolis
In the area between the Neapolis park and Fusco there are extensive remains of the Hellenistic Neapolis neighborhood with streets and blocks (see Gentili excavations). In the area south of the Amphitheater there are discharges from furnaces or Hellenistic emporiums from a nearby ceramic district (P. Orsi) found during the excavation of the Syracuse – Vizzini railway.
