Archaeological site of Monte Saraceno

Monte Saraceno was the seat of an indigenous-Greek center in which there are attestations ranging from prehistory to the Hellenistic Greek age. The most ancient testimonies are found on the top terrace of the mountain, where some prehistoric huts are preserved, the primitive indigenous settlement that developed in the seventh century. BC and the remains of the Acropolis of the Greek city - built around the middle of the sixth century. BC- on which the sacred buildings and the city walls stood. In the median terrace below there are the remains of the inhabited area of ​​the VIV century. BC while in the lower terrace of the mountain developed the inhabited area of ​​the XNUMXth century.
