Sese Cossyra (from Fresco)
The necropolis of the Sesi also extended beyond the limits of the Gelkamar flow, where its maximum concentration is found. Recent investigations have in fact verified the existence of the Sesi further north where, near the Cossyra hotel, one was excavated which provided a rich funerary outfit, equipped with personal vases and ornaments. The "Di Fresco" sese, located within the enclosure of the Hotel Cossyra, was excavated by the Superintendency of Trapani at the end of the nineties. It contains four funerary cells, one of which, no. 4, found still sealed by a wall. Inside there were the remains of an inhumed person together with a funeral kit consisting of a lithic industry on obsidian, the remains of ovis vel goat and a table set, found aligned in the center of the cell and composed of five vases: a basin, an olla and three cups.
