Old Bridge
Important testimony of the Roman presence this Aurelian Bridge, of the late imperial era, is still present today after almost 2000 years on the Caronia stream but unfortunately the central arch has collapsed due to the abandonment of the work. One of the most beautiful works of the province of Messina deserves to return to its old splendor and not continue in its inexorable crumbling. (Source FAI)
One km further south from this stretch of road there is a ruined bridge that popular tradition has always called "Aureliano" due to the misunderstanding that, for years, has seen in Via Valeria, that Via Aurelia which, in reality, is on the other hand, linking Rome to Marseille.
