Archaeological Park of the Sesi: Prehistoric village of Mursia
village of Mursía (1900-1700 BC), located on the North-West coast. Its exceptional state of conservation allows us to understand how the village was built: overlooking the sea, it was delimited by a mighty wall and inside archaic houses, similar to huts; adjacent to the fortified village is the necropolis, the city of the dead, with more than fifty sési, tombs built in stone in the shape of a dome. The ancient inhabitants lived on agriculture and sheep farming, they had many cultural affinities with the neighboring peoples of North Africa, due to the intense commercial exchanges they had with them and beyond: in fact, the population based its development on the export of obsidian and ceramics imported from the Aegean and objects of Egyptian origin and from the south-eastern Mediterranean have been found.
