Necropolis of Plemmirio

The necropolis was discovered and excavated by P. Orsi in 1891. Prehistoric necropolis, culture of Thapsos // Middle Bronze Age // XNUMXth-XNUMXth century. BC Tombs with circular chamber dug into the rock with a tholos roof, accessible from a vertical well, equipped with an anteroom, through
a small quadrangular door, with niches inside in which the furnishings were placed. The grave goods consisted of ceramic vases, bronze weapons, amber jewelry.
