The cathedral museum was founded in 1897 in some rooms adjacent to the temple, in 1969 it was moved to the former archbishopric of Pjazza tal-Arċisqof or Misraħ l-Arċisqof, opposite the side entrance of the cathedral. The seminar in Baroque style it was built between 1733 and 1742 by the architect Giovanni Barbara, after his death, Andrea Belli took over the direction of the works.

The collections held include works of art consisting of collections of coins, liturgical silver, religious vestments and some woodcuts by Albrecht Dürer.
