Description

Monte Carrozza 2

UT 33 - Monte Carrozza: inhabited area of the archaic and classical age; sporadic discovery of the prehistoric and Hellenistic age

The summit is made up of sloping lands that slope down towards the west from the top, giving rise to a vast plateau, where the investigations have identified some concentrations of shards, to be interpreted probably as scattered houses. An interesting fact that has emerged in the course of the last investigations was the discovery of a sub-area of prehistoric finds, located at the southern end of the mountain, where fragments of large containers for foodstuffs and sporadic lithic artifacts were collected, including a nucleus of Lipari obsidian
