Description

Church of S. Lucia in Piazza Gen. Sciò

The church was built by the Capuchins in 1672, it housed the wooden statue of the saint, the work of the sculptor Giuseppe Tartaglia. which is now located at the church of San Francesco d'Assisi, where it is still very much venerated especially by the fishermen who live in the Palazzo district. The church is abandoned and must be distinguished from the former church of Santa Lucia in via S. Anna
