Church of St Catherine, Żurrieq

Built in 1632 and completed in 1658. The interior preserves some paintings by Mattia Preti. Among these the Martyrdom of Saint Stephen, the Martyrdom of Saint Andrew, the Martyrdom of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the Holy Father, Saint Nicholas of Tolentino and Saint Dominic. The Church also has a painting of the Madonna del Carmine by Antonio Zammit (1908). The statue of Saint Catherine of Alexandria (1818) made by Marjanu Gerada and a statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel by Salvu Psaila (1842).
