Sanctuary of Maria SS. of the Cava
According to legend, a mute man from Trapani had the Madonna in a dream, which showed him the exact spot where he, digging, he would find an effigy of him. The man of Trapani thus set out on his journey and arrived in Pietraperzia in the place where the sanctuary stands today, he dug and finding the sacred icon he was gifted with the word.
It is also said that in an attempt to bring the image back to Trapani, this one fell several times from the chariot making the man understand that the will of the Madonna was to remain in that place and so one was built chapel with a courtyard e of the cells for hermits sayings of the Cava and only later a convent to host the Augustinian fathers.
