In Via Porta della Terra at the height of Via Rizzo. The Church of S. Maria della Stella, following the earthquake of 1693, was rebuilt in place of the Church of S. Antonio Abate. The rebuilding of the Church began in 1722 and its opening for worship took place in 1741; while the bell tower dates back to the mid-800th century. The basilican plan has three naves. Beautiful chapels adorn the Church where there are numerous masterpieces of art, including a magnificent "glazed polychrome terracotta" representing the Nativity of Our Lord: the work is attributed to Andrea della Robbia, Tuscan sculptor and ceramist. Another work preserved in the Church is an eighteenth-century altarpiece called the Nativity of Mary by Olivio Sozzi. Inside the Church, in the rooms intended for the sacristy, there is the Treasury of S. Maria della Stella which collects a wide variety of precious objects, silver and sacred furnishings
