Cathedral of Ragusa 14 Chapel of Sant'Isidoro Agricola
The polychrome marble altar has housed the painting Sant'Isidoro Agricola, by an unknown artist, since 1773. The holy farmer prays to God while the miracle of the water spring, gushing from the ground, is performed; in the background an angel plows the field, instead of him, to allow him to pray. The central relief takes up the theme of the miracle of Saint Isidore. In the lateral high reliefs, putti holding agricultural tools: the spade on the left and the grain and the sickle on the right, being Saint Isidore protector of farmers
