Villa Falcone - Morvillo (Ex Villa Garibaldi)

Villa Falcone - Morvillo in Via della Libertà

The former villa Garibaldi, now named after the magistrates Giovanni Falcone and Francesca Morvillo, was born as parterre of the English Garden, also designed by the architect Giovan Battista Basile. The two gardens face each other and are separated by via Libertà.

Inside Villa Falcone-Morvillo there are the marble busts of General Giacinto Carini, of Giuseppe Garibaldi, of General Vincenzo Giordano Orsini and the famous equestrian statue of Giuseppe Garibaldi, the work of the sculptor Vincenzo Ragusa installed in 1892.

Over the years, Villa Falcone-Morvillo has earned a reputation as a quieter place and more respectful of the naturalistic atmospheres envisioned by Giovan Battista Basile, compared to the more “lively” English Garden. (Text source: Municipality of Palermo)
