The Tonnara
La Tonnara of San Teodoro it stands on the beach of the cove of the same name in a site frequented for millennia already in the Phoenician era. Archaeological evidence testifies to the presence of the structure as early as 1272, while the tower placed to protect it is mentioned in 1457. The set of buildings thus constituted a military and production complex integrated both with the coastal defense system and with the context of the local salt marshes. In 1520 it was owned by Giacomo Antonio Crapanzano. Once the activity has ceased, today the tower, part of the warehouses and support structures remain in mediocre condition, partially used as a restaurant.
