Middle Tower (San Francesco)
Contrada Marausa, at the end of Strada Torre di mezzo, the beginning of the Largomare di S. Francesco. of Typical “classic-Camillian” construction of the defensive military architecture of the Trapani coast that maintains the original typological configuration. The tower is called Torre di Mezzo because it is in the middle of two other towers such as that of Nubia and San Teodoro. Also known as the tower of S. Francesco, because it belonged, by donation, to the convent of S. Francesco d'Assisi in Trapani. In the XNUMXth century it was requisitioned from the state property and transformed into a military fort during the Second World War. After that it was also the seat of the financial police.
