LOCATION: San Ranieri peninsula (Falcata area) DATING 1555 DESCRIPTION: Built by Giovannangelo Montorsoli to help sailors who might come across at night in the nearby insidious whirlpool known as “Calofaro”. The structure is quadrangular in shape built with large blocks of white stone. The tower has three floors. The walls are very large to the point that the stairs have been carved into the thickness of the walls themselves, from the staircase you get to the terrace from where the lighthouse lantern rises.
