Dawn Tower
The tower in 1578 at the time of Tiburzio Spannocchi's survey had not yet been built, Camillo Camilliani in preparing the project in 1586 had foreseen it as a circular tower with a slope in the lower part and with a truncated conical base. The existing tower instead has a square base with crenellated walls on the terrace. In 1589 the tower had already been completed and had been placed in charge of the Deputation of the Kingdom of Sicily, again from these last deeds it appears that in 1594 three men worked there, and that the tower had been placed under the responsibility and superintendence of cute.
The accounting of the wages of the towers reports that the tower was continuously manned throughout the years 1619, 1714, 1717, 1797. From 1804 the supervision passed to the Prince of Carini, finally in 1867 it was included in the fortifications to be abandoned. From 2000 until the end of 2007 it underwent restoration and is therefore now in excellent condition.
