Description

Roman Baths - Taormina

It is the largest thermal complex that has emerged to date in Sicily, dating back to the Imperial Roman age, in a brick structure. Three degrees side by side rooms, with hypocaust floor, under which in ancient times the fire was lit for hot air heating. Other rooms of the same structure, argue the archaeologists, have been incorporated into modern homes largely built in an area adjacent to the ancient Mint.
