San Calogero thermal baths

The baths date back to the ancient Bronze Age, extended in the Greek and Roman age with the construction of basins and swimming pools. Currently the sulphurous water source is still active. The 1865th century earthquake AD determined the abandonment of the complex. Adjacent to the thermal baths a thermal establishment was built, probably around 1870-1975. Since 2011 the plant has been closed and since XNUMX it has been used as a museum and exhibition area

Note. The area falls within zone A of the Archaeological Park of the Aeolian Islands being established (Decree of 19 October 2017 of the Department of Heritage and Identity which identifies the area of ​​the park that affects four islands of the Archipelago - Lipari, Salina, Panarea and Filicudi - and falling within the territories of the municipalities of Lipari, Santa Marina Salina, Malfa and Leni.
