La Montagnola Archaeological Site
La Montagnola 642 meters high. asl, along the N side there is an oak grove, while to the S a large stone quarry that has excavated the entire side. On the east side, inside a fenced area, 2 rectangular rooms emerge among the vegetation, which are part of a probable dwelling. These have a size of 4 meters x 4 meters. approximately; the thickness of the walls in stone blocks of about 40/50 cm. At the corners there are large blocks (60 cmx80 cm), which serve as reinforcement. One of the two rooms seems to be divided in turn into two rooms. All around there are abundant remains of common pottery such as: handles, rims, bottoms of small and medium-sized vases and thin-walled dolii. The same numerous fragments are scattered throughout the width of the summit.
