Archaeological site in Vallone Vetrano

Name

Ancient bronze station in the cave; area of discovery of Byzantine pottery.

Description

The fossil valley opens into the sea creating four coves. Both sides of the valley had caves of natural origin, today largely destroyed as a result of excavation works. Inside a cave located on the sea, a source of fresh water gushed out. near a cave
ceramic fragments and lithic industry from the ancient Bronze Age have been recovered. The materials collected on the sides of the valley suggest a reuse of the caves in the Byzantine age.
