Archaeological site in Contrada Casa Bella
Necropolis and traces of settlement.
C / da Casa Bella consists of two hills. The slopes of the northern promontory, cultivated with vineyards, present in the land left for arable land, abundant common pottery dating back to the II-V century AD. This consists for the most part of tiles and fragments of handles and bottoms of small vases. The north-east flank of the same promontory has a fenced area at the rocky summit inside which there are eleven pit tombs of the late Roman age, rectangular in shape and with a length between 2 and 1,50 meters; two smaller tombs can be glimpsed among the vegetation and one is found on the north-west side. Within the fenced area there is a channel dug into the rock 4 meters long. around and near it a sort of reservoir, two in number, lined with square blocks. At the entrance to the fence remains of paving with stones
squared off.
