Archaeological site in C / da Casalicchio - C / da Coltello

C / da Casalicchio, located south of Poggio Marcato D'Agnone, extends over an entire ridge of limestone. The southern slope bordered entirely by the Licata-Riesi sp, is dotted with numerous (about forty) cave tombs with rectangular, circular and semicircular opening, some with a recessed entrance from the surface level. They vary in size and some have a niche inside. There are also two or three placed next to each other. Beyond the La Manca valley, to the west, in C / da Coltello there are other cave tombs. To the south-south-east above the Casalicchio houses, on a light rocky level, there are two rectangular pit tombs and a room dug into the rock, of which three walls remain. To the west of the Amato houses is the area of ​​the Greek sanctuary dating from the mid-4th to the mid-5th century. BC On the rocky spur a large room was found whose walls are dug into the rocky bank and is XNUMX × XNUMX meters wide.
