Archaeological site of Poggio Marcato D'Agnone
The archaeological site of Poggio Marcato D'Agnone occupies the area of a hilly rise located 3 km back from the ridge, west of the Licata-Riesi road. To the east of the knoll, 300 meters above sea level, there are three cave tombs, one of which is eroded; other three are found dug into the rocky bank close to the eastern section of the fortification walls. 3 mt. It is made up of large irregularly shaped limestone blocks cut into the natural rock bank, placed face-to-face and filled with small cut stones. Immediately to the east of the area inside the walls there is a room dug into the rock, characterized to the west by a niche and to the east side by a basin of the sitz bath type; on the south wall a door allowed communication with another room, with a niche to the west. Towards the south side of this there are three other rooms - Bronze / Hellenistic Greek Age - 1,80nd-XNUMXth century. BC / IV-III BC
