Archaeological site of Monte Palombara
The site affects the mountainous ridge elongated in the east-west direction of Mount Palombara. On the steep slopes there are caves and the presence of a karst cave with traces of attendance between the final Aeneolithic and the early Bronze Age is noted. The cave, approx. 80 meters, it consists of three rooms, not accessible due to collapses, with stalactite and stalagmite formations. In some crevices of the walls some vases have been found which can be traced back to the final Aeneolithic period and more precisely to the Malpasso-S culture. Ippolito and of castelluccio. Scholars hypothesize a cult destination of the cave. In the land surrounding the cave there are ceramic fragments from the prehistoric and late Roman ages.
