Archaeological site of Monte Castello / Costa Fico
On the top of Mount Castello excavation tests have returned evidence of an inhabited area with materials ranging from the early Bronze Age to the culture of S. Angelo MuxaroPolizzello. On the southern slopes of the mountain there is a necropolis with prehistoric tombs from the Bronze Age
reused in the Byzantine age (loc. Grotticelle). On the northern side of the mountain a necropolis of the facies of S. Angelo Muxaro-Polizzello with tholos tombs (loc. Montagnola)
