Costa Mendola archaeological site

Frequent area in prehistoric times; remains of the Hellenistic and late Roman periods. (A2.5)

On the plateau north of the quarry, lithic tools in flint, obsidian and basalt were collected on the surface, typologically framed in the initial phases of the Copper Age. However, no traces of prehistoric settlement are known. Ancient niches carved into the rock along the walls of the quarry are evidence of visits in the Hellenistic and late Roman periods
