Contrada Sottafori Archaeological Site
C / da Sottafori is made up of several rocky cliffs crossed by a road that goes down to the valley. Upstream of this on its right side, and therefore on the north / northwest side of the area, there are about fourteen cave tombs, seven of which have a rectangular opening, three circular and one
semicircular. Some are exposed to the East, others to the Southwest and still others to the West; they have small to medium size, while the circular ones are a little wider. Some of the rectangular tombs are placed, three in number, next to each other. All around are sporadic ceramic fragments of coarse impasto. Still on the north side, but upstream of the road on its left side, there are traces of square blocks buried, which suggest the remains of a settlement. Cocciame in the surroundings, including a fragment of a reddish-colored vase with a black band on the edge of the probable Castellucciana period. Not far from this last find, on the opposite side of the cliff, there is a rectangular cave tomb. Ancient Bronze - XNUMXnd-XNUMXth century B.C
