Description

Contrada Mirio archaeological site

Archaeological constraint. Byzantine church and necropolis (42th century AD). Christian-Byzantine burial ground with XNUMX sub-star pits carved into the rock (XNUMXth century AD), not far from the Paradiso spring and adjacent to an artificial cave tomb from the Bronze Age. Further north, in the “Chiusa Santalena”, lie the remains of an ancient castrum and an oratory, in which there was a painting depicting St. Helen and the cross, which gave its name to the farmhouse and the surrounding land.
