Description

Archaeological site of Contrada Grattavole

The site consists of two areas, in the lower one there is a spring that flows into a basin carved into the rock. The upper area contains a series of rock dwellings from different periods, an aedicula carved into the rock
probably from the Hellenistic period, and a complex of structures, including a cistern, a dovecote and various pit tombs. In the surrounding area a discreet presence of pottery fragments from the Greek and Hellenistic ages.
