A lot of materials preserved in showcase 26 of the Ragusa Museum comes from Cozzo Cicirello313 in the territory of Acate, in one of the sandy hills of the Hyblean coast, located along the left bank of the Dirillo. Here it has been ascertained the presence of a settlement suspected by an old villa
Middle-Imperial and its necropolis, whose life stages can be continuously placed up to the Byzantine age. The lot of materials, most likely pertinent to the area of the necropolis, consists of two African oil lamps of the types Bussière CV 2 (Inv. 610) 314 and Deneauve VII.4 (Inv. 609) 315, one African Sigillata Hayes 81A (Inv. 608) 316, a fragment of a plate (Inv. 611), and a jug with a corrugated surface perhaps not African (Inv. 612) 317 (Source text of the document G.
