Description

Contrada Fiore

Settlement

The site involves a flat area in which, during a short excavation campaign in 1991, the remains of walls probably belonging to a rural settlement were brought to light. On the ground, on the surface, there is the presence of a large quantity of rough-hewn stones and squared sandstone ashlars; a column drum is reused in a modern terracing structure. Furthermore, the presence of fragments of common pottery and transport amphorae from the Hellenistic-Roman age and some fragments of Italian sigillata and African sigillata are also noted.

Roman Hellenistic/Republican Age – II-I century. BC- cent. A.D
