Description and tourist information:
The Reserve was established with the Regional Laws 98/81 and 16/96, it extends in the western part of the Gulf of Castellammare, in the peninsula of San Vito Lo Capo overlooking the Tyrrhenian between Castellammare del Golfo and Trapani, has an area of 1600 hectares (all in zone A) and mostly falls within the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo and to a lesser extent in the municipality of Castellammare; it extends along 7 km of coastline and is a true paradise of nature due to the great variety of natural environments present. The coast opens onto the sea with high and jagged limestone walls, interrupted by coves, rocky ravines and caves. The altitude of its peaks varies from 610 m asl of Pizzo Passo del Lupo to 913 of Monte Speziale.
The Reserve has two entrances, one from Scopello (main entrance, more equipped from the receptive point of view) and one from San Vito Lo Capo.
