Porta Ferdinandea.
Another testimony of the Baroque of Catania, located in via Garibaldi between piazza Palestro and piazza Crocifisso. The "Porta Garibaldi" (initially called Porta Ferdinandea) is a triumphal arch built in 1768, designed by Stefano Ittar and Francesco Battaglia, to commemorate the wedding of Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies and Maria Carolina of Habsburg-Lorraine.
