Municipal Palace (Palace of the Elephants)
Piazza Duomo. The Palazzo degli Elefanti is the seat of the Municipality of Catania. Many architects participated in its construction, which began in 1696: original project by Giovan Battista Longobardo, the east, south and west facades were designed by Giovan Battista Vaccarini (1731). The grand staircase that opens onto the internal courtyard is the work of Stefano Ittar (XNUMXth century)
