Bishop's Palace
LOCATION: Via Duomo DATING: XNUMXth century
DESCRIPTION: Built between 1607 and 1627 at the behest of Bishop Bonincontro, it was enlarged several times by various bishops. Outside it has an imposing portal delimited by two columns that act as a pedestal for a balcony: the latter is enriched by a triangular tympanum open in the center, which contains the coat of arms of Bishop Andrea Lucchesi. In the early nineteenth century the entrance staircase was redone and the beautiful marble statue of Santa Maria di Monserrato from the school of Domenico Gagini was placed in one of its niches. admire the portraits of the seven holy bishops, the work of Francesco Sozzi from the XNUMXth century
