Palace of the Vicariate

The place was used from 1655 to 1965 as a prison, it was rebuilt in 1820, based on a project by the architect La Bruna in the area formerly occupied by a complex of houses belonging to the Society of Jesus, previously used as cells. The result is a structure that rises on four floors characterized by four imposing telamons in stuccoed tuff. A large internal courtyard provides light to the internal rooms. Today the Palace is the seat of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art “G. Perricone ”- La Salerniana Collection
