Ova Murina
Technical Information
Ova Murina
Ova Murina is a typical and exclusive dessert of Sciacca: it was born around 1600, by the skilled hands of the nuns of the Badia Grande, in fact it is also called L'ova rà Bata Ranni (of the Badìa Grande). This dessert was made in the summer and was used to replace the Sicilian cannoli: this seasonality was linked to the fact that in the past the ricotta was not produced in the summer.
