Description

Oratory of Santa Panagia

The area is part of the archaeological site of Baia di Santa Panagia The entire archaeological site is included in the list of archaeological assets bound under the law 1089/1939 (DA 646 of 15/04/87)

Not far from the tonnara are still visible the remains of an ancient rock church of the Byzantine era, dedicated to the cult of a "Santa (Maria) Tutta Santa". Inside there are the remains of an altar with arched niches in which statues of saints and candles should have been placed. Along the rocky walls there are instead some frescoes, now almost illegible.
