Oratory of S. Lorenzo - Palermo
Via dell'Imacolatella. Built in the sixteenth century. It was rebuilt in the seventeenth to a design by Giacomo Amato. In 1609, shortly before his death, Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio painted the altarpiece depicting the Nativity with Saints Francesco and Lorenzo, which was stolen in the night between 18 and 19 October 1969. The stucco decoration dates back to 1699. by Giacomo Serpotta, with the statues depicting the Virtues, and the eight reliefs on the walls that tell the stories of the two saints
