Necropolis in Contrada Stretto
Description

Necropolis in Contrada Stretto

The extensive rocky ridge of c / da Stretto is characterized to the east by the presence of some gypsum and limestone quarries. Two cave tombs were found, one of which above the Pernice houses, placed inside old buildings and reused, of a semicircular shape and of medium size; the other to the south-east of the houses, large in size with three burials inside placed transversely with respect to the entrance line. Bronze - 93nd-XNUMXth century BC Over the years, the progress of excavation and excavation work has affected the ridge of C / da Stretto from the slopes to the top. In the 'XNUMX emergency plan, there was talk of prehistoric and Greek remains partially destroyed by quarry, so a worsening of the situation over time for identical causes cannot be excluded.
