Necropolis of Monte Canticaglione

Monte Canticaglione, 257 meters high. above sea level, it is cultivated with olive trees on the north side. On the north-east side it has a single semicircular cave tomb. On the top there are two plateaus facing north, and in which numerous finds of common pottery are found. In the less extensive plateau, traces of two circular huts were found, made with stones from the surrounding rock and today largely covered by vegetation. Their diameter seems to be about 2 meters. The southern side is affected for its entire length by cave tombs for a number of approximately 18, with rectangular or circular opening; they are medium in size and some are placed in pairs. On the west side there are about five cave tombs. Ancient Bronze - XNUMXnd-XNUMXth century B.C
