Museum of the tuna fishery and the sea
The tuna fishery of Tono was granted for the first time to a certain Federico Giordano in an unspecified period. The tonnara was used to catch tuna, swordfish and blue fish. Previously set up at Tono, it is now re-proposed at the central tourist office in Milazzo. The Association has also joined ancient objects of the local navy, not necessarily related to tuna fishing. The Museum represents a precious testimony of our past. Through a plasma screen, visitors can see old films shot at the Tonnara del Tono in the early XNUMXs, interspersed with an effective description of the functioning of the intricate system of chambers in which the tuna were trapped.
