Annalisa Buccellato Museum
The Annalisa Buccellato ethno-anthropological museum was created by the foundation of the same name and is housed, together with the museum of water and water mills, at the Arab-Norman Castle of Castellammare del Golfo.
DEDICATED to the different aspects of Sicilian civilization.
STORE everyday objects related to the most common agricultural crops, such as cereals, vines, olives, tools of various trades, such as the blacksmith, the shoemaker, the bricklayer, the carpenter, the cooper, the tanner, tools and furnishings domestic.
MAIN PURPOSE to preserve the memory of the past to suggest the close links between old and new in the awareness of a continuity between what is and what has been.
The Museum is organized in small exhibition areas.
With decree n. 3036 dated 05.11.14, the Regional Department of Cultural Heritage and the Sicilian entity recognized the collections kept and exhibited in the "Annalisa Buccellato Ethno-anthropological Museum" of particularly important ethno-anthropological interest, "being significant evidence of ancient processing techniques that industrialization of the agricultural world has almost completely erased as well as documents of the civilization and peasant culture of Castellammarese now disappeared that must be handed down in order not to lose their memory ".
